Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see you?

No, you do not need a referral to access my service if you have a private health fund or are willing to pay out-of-pocket.

What if I don’t have a webcam on my laptop?

It would still be possible to do a consult over Zoom and you would still be able to see me. If you would like to come on camera, you could download the Zoom app on your phone and use the camera on your phone.

If I live in Australia, would I be eligible for rebates through my private health insurance or Medicare?

Yes, you may be eligible for a rebate if you have private health insurance under ‘extras cover’. Please check with your insurer directly to find out if online consultations can be included and how much you would get back as this can vary depending on the policy and level of cover.

I currently do not accept Medicare at my virtual practice; however, this may change in the future.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. However, I do charge a small fee for cancellation without sufficient notice or non-attendance to appointments. Providing less than 24-hours notice to cancel your appointment will incur a $30 cancellation fee. Please note that this fee cannot be claimed through your private health fund and exemptions may apply depending on your circumstances.

For consultations that are cancelled earlier than 24 hours of your appointment time, you will be able to reschedule your appointment with no additional cost.

Please email hello@anikarouf.com if you need to change your appointment.
